Edinburgh Reading Group, January-March 2016
In preparation for the 2016 Annual Conference, the Edinburgh Reading Group of the Scottish Evangelical Theology Society and the Theology Network of UCCF reconvenes to tackle The Divine Commodity: Discovering Faith Beyond Consumer Christianity by Skye Jethani.
This attractively written and relatively short book will help us prepare for the Annual Conference in April as well as stimulating creative discussion on a very relevant theme today.
The dates and sections for discussion are as follows:
- 28 January: Intro + Chapters 1-2
- 11 February: Chapters 3-4
- 25 February: Chapters 5-6
- 10 March: Chapters 7-8
- 24 March: Chapter 7-9 + Epilogue
The Divine Commodity (Zondervan, 2009) retails at £12.99, but members of the reading group can get a copy from the Free Church Bookshop for £10.50.
Our venue for all sessions is, as ever, in Room 8 of the Free Church building (15 North Bank Street, The Mound, Edinburgh, EH1 2LS), and we meet from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
